If you do not have a working door opener remote or any remotes, you will need to check the garage door openers main power head hanging from the ceiling in the garage.   Locate the small antenna wire hanging from or near the main power head.  Follow it up, where you will find either 12 small rocker switches (or bridged wires) or a small black button with a red LED light bulb next to it.  You may need to remove the light bulb cover to find this, but you do not need to remove the garage door openers main power head cover.  If your antenna wire leads you to a small rectangular box (receiver) mounted near and connected to the main power head with three wires, you need the frequency (freq) number off the end of the box.  A frequency number of 390 will use our model GT912 as a replacement.  Any other frequency (225,230,235,240,250,255,260,290,295,300,305,310,315,320,325) a replacement remote is no longer available.  Our GIC390 Garage Door Opener Universal Radio Control Kit replaces older, discontinued remotes and receivers.

9 rocker switches (390 Frequency) uses GT912

Small black button with red LED light uses Intellicode Series II, GIT-1, GIT-2, GIT-3, GMI-3BL.
